  • maybe something to look forward to...Wycliffe Associates eOpportunities from Bruce Smith

Have you ever stood in a classroom, and found yourself staring off into space, wishing that you could make a difference in Bible translation? What better way to make a lasting impact on the families bringing God’s Word to the lost than through teaching their children. Did you know that translators leave the field each year to meet the educational needs of their children? If you have a heart for children and a desire to serve our Lord in this critical work, or know of a teacher who would like to hear about our children’s needs, please share this and read on.

Here are two locations in critical need of teachers for the 2010-2011 school year.

Hope Academy of Bishkek (www.hopeacademykg.com) - Hope Academy is located in Kyrgyzstan. Bishkek is a city of wide boulevards and marble-faced public buildings along with numerous apartment blocks surrounding interior courtyards and smaller private homes located outside the city center. Most streets are flanked on both sides by narrow irrigation channels that water the innumerable trees which provide shade during the summer. Bishkek has a mild climate and averages 322 clear days annually due to its mountainous location. You will love the school’s leaders. They are committed to bringing quality education to missionary children. Here is a list of needs for next year:

Elementary teachers - third and fifth grades
       High school social studies
       High school math
English as a Second Language teacher
       PE/sports director
       Special education

Caspian Academy of Baku - Baku is the capital, the largest city, and the largest port of Azerbaijan and all the Caucasus region. Located on the southern shore of the Absheron Peninsula, the city consists of two principal parts: the downtown and the old Inner City. Baku is renowned for its antiquity, territory, and population. The Caspian Sea is a regional vacation spot, with a number of mud volcanoes and salt lakes near Baku.

Elementary teachers - second through sixth grades
       Middle school teacher
       Junior/senior high English
       Junior/senior high science
       Junior/senior high social science
       Junior/senior high math

  • There's something so precious about human relationship and connection.  It's so empowering when you have it.  These human connections are what people live for, fight for, die for.  Without it, life is so lonely.  But when these human connections are lost and broken, what a loss it is.

I feel like I'm losing my ability express things.  I still say a lot of things... but a lot of things that really don't mean much or things that don't really explain what I'm feeling inside.  Maybe that's a good thing?  Maybe it's just part of growing up.  But sometimes I miss the sweet release of putting my thoughts into words.

I wonder how Jesus was as a person in this world... how He touched so many lives and loved so many people and had so many people love Him and yet--- still have those closest to him betray Him.  It must have been so painful and lonely.  He still loved even though it made Him so vulnerable even to the point of death.  I think about it and I can't fathom it.  I don't understand how He can love like that... how He can love me when I'm so fallen and broken.  All I can do is just hold on to my selffish heart that doesn't want to be hurt and just feel cold all over.  That's what I've been feeling lately... just cold.

    Jesus....

  • What am I glorifying?

The truth is it's easy to glorify emotions that don't mean a whole lot.  They pass--emotions always pass.  But reality doesn't.  Truth doesn't.

Today at church, my Pastor asked us: "Aren't you tired of sinning?  Aren't you tired of hiding?"

I should be tired and I'm want to be tired of glorifying the wrong things.

About Me

  • i love God. Isaiah 40:28-31 "Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint"
